I slept half-way decent last night, had trouble staying grounded and patient with the kids while I was cooking breakfast, then escaped to the cabin for a bit to start putting my life back into some semblance of order after my grandfather’s passing.

It’s a lot harder than I make it sound. But I managed to find an elusive flow state while I was doing my warmup page this morning:

That may very well be one of the best warmup pages I’ve ever done. I found a new way to position my wrist while doing s-curves, I focused on slowing down and ghosting while doing ellipses, especially the targeted perspective ellipse, and I just took my time all the way around. Slowing down…feeling…and getting lost. It was nice.

I also tattooed after lunch, but forgot to take a photo, like I’m prone to do lately. I was happy with the results. 🙂

What went well?

  • Finding flow while I was working on my warmup.
  • Earning some money after losing quite a lot.

What needs work?

  • Focus on my fundamentals so I can show up as my best.

What did I learn?

I need to focus on getting my fundamentals in order, even during a time of grief.
