Two days FULL of tattooing and working on CreateQuest. I’m loving this project. Quite literally.

The flow I’ve been able to find while working on CreateQuest is just amazing to me. But that’s a topic for another day.

The tattoos I did were re-works of old tattoos done by other artists. Something I usually refrain from doing, for good reason. Especially when they’re larger tattoos, like these. It’s time-consuming, and…in the end…it’s not really my art. It’s just trying to repair something that’s broken.

Still, it gives me the opportunity to experiment with my client knowing very well that there’s only so much that can be done.

What went well?

  • Getting a ton of time in on CreateQuest on Friday.
  • Getting a better idea of how long it takes to pack in very large fields of solid, consistent color or black.

What needs work?

  • Finding a way to stand my ground on a cutoff time.
  • Better planning for coverup tattoos.

What did I learn?

Sometimes…I can’t save a tattoo that needs repaired. I’ve spent the last 2 days trying to, but neither tattoo looks like “mine” because I didn’t get to start with a clean slate. I did my best.
