I forgot to post yesterday, but I didn’t skip my practice. I actually got more time in than I expected to with all of the errands and house work that needed to be done. My warmup page:

Again, I’m pretty happy with how I’m able to control my lines with light to heavy pressure and just taking my time. I also worked on a new piece of flash (work in progress):

And that’s about all I was able to get done yesterday. I slept poorly last night, but woke up with a lot of energy, anyway. I did some development on CreateQuest (a new setup for the Chronicles), then wrote for CreateQuest and filmed. After all of that, I did my warmup page for TODAY:

This page was frustrating because my good stylus was MIA (I found it much later in the day) — the pressure sensitivity on my backup stylus isn’t nearly as accurate, and it tends to leave a lot of trailing marks once I lift the stylus from the screen. It’s…frustrating.

Still, I went on to work a bit more on a client design for a few minutes before lunch and more house/yard work.

I’m starting to really grasp the alternating darks and lights to create visual interest. I’m excited to see how this one turns out on the skin.

What was awesome?

Keeping up with my practice.

MASSIVE action on CreateQuest and all of my other projects.

What needs work?

My sleep was very poor.

I got very frustrated with my backup stylus. Which is why it’s the backup. I’m glad I had it to work with, but it makes my art practice take longer.

What did I learn?

Don’t let the kids get ahold of my stylus.

Action trumps careful planning. Some planning is required, but once you have a plan, don’t procrastinate. GET IT!

And don’t forget to check out CreateQuest – a project that I’m working on with Chris Beaven. It’s our mission to bring creatives together in an empowering community with a focus on improving the world, not just changing it.
