My kiddos kept me up a lot last night, so I was incredibly low on energy today.
Still, I hit the cabin nice and early and got to work right away on drawing. No warmup today:

This quick design ended up turning into THIS later in the day:

Stipple shading is quickly turning into one of my favorite fillers for large-scale work.
I also worked on this sketch this morning (for tomorrow’s appointment):

THIS is going to be a challenge, for sure. I may only be able to get the lines done with greylines before the appointment is up, but I’m going to try my hardest to make sure my client walks out with something worth looking at.
Other work I did today:
- A small tattoo that I forgot to take a photo of.
- Drafting emails for CreateQuest.
- Publishing a new video on CreateQuest.
What was awesome?
Dots. And more dots.
What needs work?
I need to find a way to adapt to sleep deprivation with the kiddos. I’ve tried getting in bed earlier, but that doesn’t work very well with a newborn on a feeding schedule.
What did I learn?
Sometimes you just have to power through and catch up on recovery later. Today was one of those days.
And don’t forget to check out CreateQuest – a project that I’m working on with Chris Beaven. It’s our mission to bring creatives together in an empowering community with a focus on improving the world, not just changing it.
