Today started off awesome. I slept pretty well last night, rocked my AM routines, got some work done bright and early, then I brought Maddix to the cabin with me to hang out and color for a while. It was nice!

But I crashed after lunch and I still hadn’t DRAWN anything, though I got a ton of work done on CreateQuest videos in the AM.

Still, I tried to do my newest sketchbook exercise. Here are the results:

When I slowed down to work on the portrait study is when I found a little bit of a groove, but I was still tired. So I decided to do another portrait study:

Which turned out better, but I was so exhausted when I finished this sketch that I needed to call it a day.

What was awesome?

Progress on CreateQuest.

Finding flow in portrait sketching.

What needs work?

My energy levels crashed quickly today, even though I had plenty of energy in the morning.

What did I learn?

I need to do my drawing early so I can finish up everything I want to accomplish at a reasonable time.

And don’t forget to check out CreateQuest – a project that I’m working on with Chris Beaven. It’s our mission to bring creatives together in an empowering community with a focus on improving the world, not just changing it.
