Today was supposed to be a day full of creative practice, as most Thursdays are, but I was on the phone with the DMV for 2.5 hours this morning, and so it threw most of my day off!
Still, I got some practice in today, starting with a client design for tomorrow:
Then some mapping for fun:
I also sat down with my wife to sketch out some rough floor plans for our dream home…but we didn’t agree on much! It was still fun, though we ended up scrapping our ideas until we look at some floor plans that we both like.
What was awesome?
Bonding with my wife.
Getting some creative time in, even though I had phone errands and physical errands to run.
What needs work?
I…don’t like the DMV! Not the employees, they’re just doing their best, but the system is broken.
What did I learn?
I’m able to cheerfully say “Hi! How are you doing today?” more than 15 times in a 2.5-hour block of time.
And don’t forget to check out CreateQuest – a project that I’m working on with Chris Beaven. It’s our mission to bring creatives together in an empowering community with a focus on improving the world, not just changing it.
