Well, I lost my balance and had to struggle to regain it over the past 4 (!) days. I can’t believe I went that long without publishing something. Every night I’ve sat down at the end of some very long days, decided that I’d “publish tomorrow,” and then repeated the process.

NOT TONIGHT! So, to start things off, here’s what I’ve been up to for the past 4 days:

This is NOT my design. I was doing my best to rework some atrocious lettering on this awesome man’s arm. I hate when really good people have really bad experiences with the tattoo industry.

He was over-the-moon with the tiny bit of rework that I managed to do, but what’s more…this was MAYBE 15-20 minutes of actual tattoo time. But he was in my chair for 2 HOURS.

We had some amazing conversations and I hope to have this gentleman in my chair again soon.

The two days following that tattoo, all I had time to do were some quick gesture studies. I need to get back to that ASAP.

I finally managed to get some quality rest last night, though, and used an open morning to get a TON of filming and editing done for CreateQuest.

The rest of the day fell apart quickly as there were unexpected errands to handle through the day, and I sat down late to draw for a client tomorrow:

What was awesome?

Keeping the streak going.

Developing a really awesome relationship with a new client.

I got a new easel! I’ll have to take photos of the way I have it all set up soon.

What needs work?

I need to coordinate with my wife better. If it’s not on the calendar, I don’t know what’s going on.

What did I learn?

Standing and drawing is awesome.

I NEED things on the calendar to plan around them.

And don’t forget to check out CreateQuest – a project that I’m working on with Chris Beaven. It’s our mission to bring creatives together in an empowering community with a focus on improving the world, not just changing it.
