It was another day of self-imposed quarantine. We’re trying to make sure that we’re responsible citizens, so I spent most of my day at the cabin trying to do what work I could, though I did skip out early to play with my kids.

Arya is feeling a little bit better today, but she still isn’t well. She slept for most of the day, then had to stop playing to go lay down after dinner. My bouncy little girl is miserable right now, but she’s on the mend.

Cabin time for me was incredibly productive, though. I got some gesture drawing in this morning:

After lunch I spent time on CreateQuest, getting another post ready for publishing and releasing the next lesson for Rethinking Creative Marketing.

More drawing followed the couple of hours of web development.

And I have to share a new tool that I’m loving: BookFusion!

If you have PDFs with OCR then you can take notes and sync reading position and highlights in the cloud! That’s been a huge sticking point for my book collection. So I’m a little bit nerdy and excited over it. Yeah.

What was awesome?

A very productive day at the cabin.

Playing with my kids.

Drawing at my easel with loud music playing.

Finally finding a tool to help me with studying PDF books.

What needs work?

The larger societal issues with COVID.

There are a few things left over on my to-do list for the day, but they can wait until tomorrow.

What did I learn?

If I just focus on the next thing until it’s done, I usually get a ton more done than trying to get everything done in a mad rush. Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.

And don’t forget to check out CreateQuest – a project that I’m working on with Chris Beaven. It’s our mission to bring creatives together in an empowering community with a focus on improving the world, not just changing it.
