Day two of actual quarantine. Of course, I had a ton on my mind, but…well…it’s going to be alright. š
I had a strange morning and was running a little bit behind, then a business meeting, but I started drawing bright and early, anyway:

Not the best warmup page in the history of ever, but not a bad one, either. It was a little bit difficult to focus, but I made due.

My gestures today just felt…mediocre. Not great, not horrible.
I decided to study some more Steve Huston material on gestures and went back to it.

Before I really internalized the concepts Huston was teaching in the material, the motions were incredibly stiff. Which shows in some of these gestures. By the end of the practice I was making much more confident, natural marks, though.

And, back to more of the fundamentals. I drew an egg. š Whilst drawing an egg I got the news that I was most likely NOT exposed to COVID. The follow-up test for my coworker will be on Monday, when I go to get my test done, as well.
Here’s to hoping!
What went well?
- Lots of drawing and writing time today.
- Dedicating myself to a barbell strategy, even if I’m able to go back to work on Tuesday.
- Good news regarding probably-not-COVID.
What needs work?
- Focus and energy. I still haven’t been feeling too hot and I need to figure that one out.
- Having a plan for “off” days.
What did I learn?
I’m not a fan of having a COVID scare have such a huge impact on my finances, just from missing 2 days of work. This has been an eye-opening experience that I’d rather not repeat. Ever again.
I’ll be working extra-hard to get a web design and development agency off the ground ASAP, working on my new project with euCreativ, and doing my best to set up a passive (or low-maintenance) income in the not-so-distant future.
