The last week has been hectic. My wife gave birth to the latest member of the Johnson Household — Harper Nicole. And the time at the hospital, plus getting settled at home with another child has been chaotic, to say the least. But entirely worth the struggle.

That being said, I haven’t had time to make a post! I’m trying out a new AM routine to get things back on track, and it seems to be working fairly well. Now it’s just a matter of finding a way to actively balance everything going on in my life.
I’ve also lost several pages of warmups, didn’t track my time particularly well, and am trying out some new things.

While I was at the hospital with my wife and daughter, I picked up some Micron pens for my sketchbook, and decided to switch my digital practice up a bit to reflect the new tools that I’m experimenting with. Microns (and the micron “brush” I made in Krita) are very unforgiving. It’s immediate feedback on my exercises instead of being able to lightly “sketch” with pencils.

This tattoo was done right before we went to the hospital to meet Harper.
And I did this tattoo after I settled in, but couldn’t get a good photo of the tattoo, itself:

What was awesome?
Meeting my daughter.
Keeping up with my practice.
Fun tattoos.
What needs work?
Sleeeep!
Better routines for posting.
What did I learn?
I can keep up a daily practice on the worst of days. Now I need to figure out how to keep up a daily post!
