Today was another hectic day for me. I had to go to the grocery store bright and early this morning, and get tools and supplies from the studio.
To top it all off, I didn’t sleep well last night, so my energy was at a super-duper LOW.
But I still got to work on some drawing after a meeting today, though I skipped the warmup page.

First up is the hummingbird sketch for a client. I’ve since edited it, but don’t have a web-friendly version of the file as-of the time I’m typing this out.

And a finished caricature of some pets as a Christmas gift! This was actually a whole lot of fun to work on and it pushed me to think about things a little differently than I normally do.
Beyond that, I spent a whole lot of time working on a client website today and doing tons of research.
What went well?
- Finishing up a Christmas gift.
- Making a client happy with a tattoo design.
What needs work?
- Energy and focus. I got a TON of stuff done today, but it all felt like busywork.
What did I learn?
I need to keep myself away from overwhelm. I need to focus on finding qualified leads for my side business. I need to delegate things as soon as possible to free up time and focus as resources.
