Another night where I didn’t sleep well, but I was determined to focus today. I had a slightly lighter day of work ahead of me, so I just took my time, focused on ONE thing at a time, then moved to the next thing when it was time.

Time at the cabin always helps me get focused. I’m pretty happy with todays warm-up again. I need to add a new exercise to my warm-up sheet, I think. I’m just not sure what or where. I’ll give it some thought.

I did some quick gesture drawing today, working with a timer to take breaks and stretch.

This blind contour drawing officially marks the end of the first “block” from The Natural Way to Draw. I’ve had trouble keeping up with the exercises between work and family, but I just kept chipping away at it until I made it! This contour is incredibly goofy to me, but it’s still a reason to celebrate. š
I logged a bit more time on this drawing for Tiffany. Just refining and adding fresh pieces to the puzzle. š
Once I got to work I got to have a TON of fun with an awesome client working on this Star Wars-inspired tattoo. The Chimaera Start Destroyer. But artsy. š
What went well?
- Loud music at the cabin while I did my morning drawing block.
- An incredibly fun client.
- Using an interval timer to get up and stretch really quick when I’m tattooing.
What needs work?
- I was out of energy today.
- I feel like my linework wasn’t as good as it could be on the tattoo I did, but it was still very high quality.
What did I learn?
Taking a day to catch up is worth the lost income. It gave me the opportunity to focus on each of my clients as much as they needed.
Also, I kinda want to join The Nerds Facebook group, now. LoL
