Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I had plans to work through the morning, but I wanted to show my wife some gratitude and let her sleep in, so my plans changed!

My warmup was interrupted a couple of times while I was hanging with the kids on Thanksgiving, something else I’m incredibly grateful for!

And I couldn’t quite seem to get a single gesture up to the point that I wanted it to be. It was frustrating as hell!

But…since it was Thanksgiving, I decided to call it a day there and spend the rest of my day with the wife and kids instead of getting frustrated with my drawing. I’ll be back at it tomorrow with TONS of art and a huge tattoo, so I’ll be making up for lost time today.

What went well?

  • I spent the day with my wife and children being grateful that I have them.
  • I got plenty of rest through the rest of the day, something I usually don’t give myself.

What needs work?

  • Finding a new way to spend time on art WITH my kids.

What did I learn?

Recovery is just as important as exercise. That counts for art, too. Don’t neglect your down-time, because down-time is recovery time!
