I didn’t prepare for Valentine’s Day for the first time in 7 years with my wife. The extra stress of ice storms and emergencies this week honestly made me forget the holiday.

So I did QUICK art time this morning to at least try to make the rest of her day as easy as possible. If I can’t get her something nice, I can still do nice things for her.

Not a bad warmup.

And some gestures to top off my practice

What went well?

  • A nice, toasty cabin
  • Working on gestures before spending the rest of the day with my family.

What needs work?

  • Preparing more for big life events.

What did I learn?

In addition to drawing early, I should really prep for holidays and birthdays weeks in advance. Much less stressful that way.
